Passenger or cargo?

Air Taxi Spot is a directory. It does not sell rides or freight. Mission labels are how the catalog groups companies that talk about carrying people, carrying goods, or both. The two labels shoppers use most are passenger air taxi and cargo.

What the two labels mean here

  • Passenger air taxi — companies positioned for urban or regional passenger short-hop air taxi. The words are a browse tag. They are not a ticket, a schedule, or a statement that passenger service is on sale.
  • Cargo — cargo and logistics missions, including middle-mile, unmanned, and dual-role aircraft. The tag is not a booking for a shipment.

A company can carry both tags. A separate passenger label exists for passenger-capable programs that are not filed under the stricter passenger air taxi wording. In the current catalog, no company uses that passenger chip on its own. If that changes, the category page is the list.

Mission is not the vehicle type. Among companies tagged passenger air taxi, the vehicle labels present in this catalog are eVTOL, VTOL, hybrid, eSTOL, flying-car. An eSTOL or hybrid program can still carry the passenger air taxi tag. Open the company page to see the exact chips.

Both passenger air taxi and cargo

These companies carry both mission labels. The sentence after the name is the catalog tagline. It is not a fare, a payload you can order, or a route.

Cargo without the passenger air taxi label

These companies are tagged cargo and are not tagged passenger air taxi. Treat them as cargo entries in this directory, not as passenger air taxis.

  • Dufour Aerospace (Active). Swiss tilt-wing cargo eVTOL drones (Aero-200 / Aero3 lineage) Vehicle labels: eVTOL, hybrid.
  • Elroy Air (Active). Autonomous hybrid-electric Chaparral cargo eVTOL for middle-mile logistics Vehicle labels: eVTOL, hybrid.
  • Sabrewing Aircraft (Status unknown). US autonomous VTOL cargo UAV (Rhaegal); limited recent public footprint Vehicle label: VTOL.

Passenger air taxi without the cargo label

These companies are tagged passenger air taxi and are not tagged cargo. Status next to the name (Active, Paused, Defunct, Acquired, or Status unknown) is a separate catalog field. It is not a safety ranking and it is not a statement that a ride is available.

Flying-car is a vehicle label

Flying-car is not a mission. A flying-car company can also carry passenger air taxi, or it can sit outside that mission list.

Also tagged passenger air taxi: ARIDGE (formerly XPENG AeroHT).

Flying-car and not tagged passenger air taxi: PAL-V — Dutch roadable flying car (gyrocopter-based Liberty) — adjacent to air-taxi discourse.

What these labels do not say

  • They do not say a company is approved to carry passengers or cargo. If a company page shows a certification phrase, that phrase is a directory label. How to read certification stage labels.
  • A cargo certification label is not a passenger-service label, and the reverse is also true. Read the quoted phrase on the company page before you treat the words as current.
  • They do not set a price, a range, a seat count, or a city pair. This page does not add those figures.
  • They do not rank companies. Listing both labels, or only one, is not an endorsement.

Region is a different chip. How to browse by region explains the US, EU, Asia, and Other buckets. The company directory can apply more than one chip at a time, for example US and cargo or Asia and passenger air taxi.
